My Body, Myself Body Image Workshop
Designed specifically for compulsive eaters, My Body, Myself is a day long intensive workshop designed to help people improve body image. This is a central issue to dealing with compulsive eating; without good body image, people will not value their bodies enough to make the changes they desire. If hating your body brought about change, it would have worked by now! My Body, Myself is offered several times throughout the year. Please call for time, location, and more information. Cost for the workshop is $150.00 Sliding fee scale is available.
Bodywise Help Group
This is a professionally led, eight week group designed to allow compulsive eaters to support each other in the recovery process. A variety of topics are discussed, and people are encouraged to share their experiences. Please call for start dates. The cost per group is $10.00.
Compulsive Eating Therapy Group
This is an intensive on-going group designed to help members discover how their eating may be linked to a variety of issues, both past and present. Clients will explore the ways in which relationships, childhood experiences, parenthood, and other pressures create the drive to eat compulsively. Members will also be encouraged to share their experiences with the group, and benefit from each other's stories. Please call Bodywise for more information.
Why Do We Eat Too Much? Some Tools to Begin the Process of Change
This is a one and a half-hour talk designed to help people determine if they struggle with compulsive eating. An outline of why diets often don't work will be discussed, along with suggestions for attaining a healthy weight without dieting. A variety of coping strategies for dealing with the temptation to overeat will also be presented. Resources for further help will be available, and Bodywise staff will be on hand to answer questions.
